Chicago: Day 6

Dawn and I traveled up to Arlington Heights to have lunch with Mike & Caroll. I haven’t seen them in a few years along with rest of the family due to some drama let call it. Anyways, Lunch was at Hackney’s. We started off with a huge brick of thin, stringy onion rings. Interesting to see and great to eat! Then we enjoyed some delicous burgers and a few drinks. We left about 33op or so. With all the contruction on the highways, we just wanted to try and minimize the delay in getting back south.

At this point, I don’t remember what the heck happened the rest of the day/night. lol

Chicago: Day 5

Massive rainfall across Northern Illinois overnight. Over 6.50″ fell in Burbank, over 7″ at Midway. Had Chinese lunch by Darren’s. Played the tank game on Wii Play - 2 player mode. That was really fun. About 330p, I packed up and headed to Grandma Fick’s & Aunt Sputty’s for dinner and mingle.

Normally a 35 minute trip, it took me over 2 hours. The Eisenhower was shut down due to flooding. So all the traffic was shifted to 294 north or south. I went North. Yeah, that was a parking lot. It took an hour to go from 88 to 190 on 294. Bad bad bad.

We had dinner at a nice Italian restaurant a few blocks away. So much food. It must have been a 6 course meal. Wow. Even I couldn’t finish it all of my steak. After dinner, John and I went bowling.  Yeah, I kicked his butt! Well, not really. They were really close games but the lanes were really dry. I took 2 out of 3 games.

Got back to the house. Chatted with Grams for a bit and saw video of the flooding on ABC 7 news. Then headed upstairs for more chatting and I was teaching salsa! Aunt sputty’s moves were, well….. :) Decided to crash by the Tuckers since Dawn and I will be going out for lunch. Plus all the roads were open and traffic was non-existant at 1130p! It only took 45 minutes to go from Belmont & Palaski to Orland Hills. That’s what I’m talking about.

Chicago: Day 4

Had a chicken dinner by Darren’s & Lisa’s. Then is I was at the Lodge at 4 lakes in Lisle about 730p onward. Some old VB players and friends stopped by for a beer. It would have been awesome to get have a “Game on”, but everyone is old and nobody can move like they did 5 years ago. See what happens when you have kids?! haha. I crashed by Darren’s.

Chicago: Day 3

Started of at the tuckers. Ron made French toast and eggs for everyone. Tasty. Ron, Dawn, Shane, Jessie, and I all piled into the hotrod and went to the mall. I purchased a cubs and sox t-shirt along with some stylin shades. Then Ron, Shane, and I went out to play Frolf. My first time at Frolfing. The game does take soem finese and techniques. Fun and challenging and FREE. After 18 holes, I made par, Shane was like -8 and Ron was -2 perhaps.

Tracy wanted to take me out to dinner alone but that didn’t quite happen. After shane got back from class, we went to Champs. Wow, what a big burger I had. Good food and cheap beer that night. $2 pints on all drafts. The were out of goose Island, so I had the stella, Sam Adams Seasonal. Tracy and I stayed afterwards for another beer and some chatting. Dawn, Shane, and I did some shots, and Ron Shane and I did some Wii Golf. Dawn sawed some logs on the air mattress. Video included! The I crashed.

Chicago: Day 2

Picked up my rental car this afternoon. It was a Red Dodge Charger! Nothing but the best for Top Gun. Thats how I roll. Went to visit Aunt Elenor & Uncle Clearance but no one was home. :( Continued on to the Tuckers since Trina wasn’t going to be home. Played some bags, BS’d. Shane went off to a dinner cruise, Dawn was at a Doctors, and Jessie was softball practice. So, Ron and I went to the patio for dinner. I had the Ribs and Chicken. Yummy. Yes, we drove the hot rod. Later that evening, I met up with a friend from NIU for some drinks at Dublin on 173rd & oak park ave. It was great to see her again. Crashed at the Tuckers.

Chicago: Day 1

Landed at Midway about 9a. Grandpa Eisses picked me up and we stopped at Webbers Bakery. Grandpa picked up some bread for spaghetti tonight and I bought some apple strudle. Grandma Zellak made 10 ccheese pierogi’s! Yummy. I had dinner by G. Eisses, turtle sundae’s from Portillo’s and played some Yahtzee. Crashing here tonight. I managed to get a weak unsecured internet signal. Its so wierd to be online at grandma’s house. So nice to see the grandparents.

At the Brick…House

Down the block from Giordono’s, a new Brick House Tap N Tavern opened up recently. Last night I checked it out and a few co-workers joined me later on. Very nice place with hot ass waitresses. lol. Might be better than hooters. I was only supposed to have one beer but once the gang arrived, we ordered a table topper - or as they call it - a bong. 100oz of beer. Quite a fun and very funny evening there.
