Holy Dewpoints Batman

From Tampa, FL

Ahhhhhh, dewpoints under 75. Ahhhh. Tuesday we were 92 (Temp) over 75 (Dewpoint). This Wed morning, it is 69 over 49. It feels sooo much cooler and drier that a light jacket may be necessary. Kid you not. Its refreshing to say the least. On a side note, Monday, the dewpoint dropped briefly from 75 to 70. Believe it or not, I could actually feel that difference.

This is the coolest and driest airmass in the Tampa area since about Mid April. For the first time since mid April, the A/C can be turned off and the windows can be opened up. Over 5 months of 90+ with Dewpoints generally over 72 have come to an end. The transition into the dry season has begun.

Gulf water temp is about 85 which is down from the 91 degrees it was only weeks ago. :( We probably only have about 3 more weeks to use the pools and ocean before the water gets too cold to use. Then we have to wait till late april to use the water again.

General update

Busy busy busy. Dang o mighty.

Finally got some of the blogs updated. Pictures to compliment the blogs I should have up hopefully Thursday.

I will be in Deltona again this weekend. Sophia has soccer practice on Saturday and Melissa has some house hunting. I’m looking forward to the weekend.

Tuesday, I started painting the kitchen and hallways. Ma didn’t like the color that we picked, so it has to be repainted. We have the new color and I will probably paint next Monday.

I have a new job. I will be working at the St. Pete Times forum. From what I know so far, I will be mainly be a Conversion Technician. These are the people who assemble and dissamble various things before and after events such as concerts, shows, hockey games. So for now, I will work this as my main employment while still working at the sweat shop. lol.

Fun weeked in Orlando area

This past weekend, I was up in the Orlando area visiting with the gf. It was another busy weekend out there. Friday we worked out at LA Fitness. Saturday we got Sophia’s (Melissa’s Daughter) soccer uniform from the park district. Man, those lines were long. Then we looked at a condo for Melissa, visited Downtown Disney, and then had dinner reservations to see Arabian Nights.

Downtown Disney
First time I was ever there. We were there killing some time before Arabian Nights. After a little time at the T-Rex, we found ourselves at Lego World. Yes thats right, lego world. What started off with only Sophia playing with lego’s soon became all 3 of us. We were all indulged into building our own cars to race down the ramp. Way fun. Melissa and Sophia were completed way before I was so they raced a few times. Finally I got my done and tested it out. It didn’t move! lol. It was too heavy to move. The wheels weren’t the greatest. After a major overhaul and redesign, I got mine up and running. I was able to get a private race of just our 3 cars. Soon after the checkered flag, I took the lead. Yep, I won. :) If we had a race prior to my redesign, I would have definatley had lost. Such a cool design but too heavy.

Arabian Nights
We almost didn’t make it. We were informed to be there by 830p and we thought our 815p arrival would have been sufficient. Nope. The lone was really long. In-fact, we waited in line for nearly an hour to purchase tickets. It turns out that Melissa’s friend found out later that evening that it recommended for people to arrive by like 7 or 730 because of the long lines. To make matters worse, Melissa’s friend called Melissa’s cell phone over 22 times while we were in Downtown Disney to tell us to get over there. However, Melissa left her phone in the car. Well, to wrap this part of the story up…we were about 8 minutes late into the show, but we made it in.

Food was pretty good. I had the sirloin steak, Melissa had the chicken I believe, and Sophia had the kids meal of Chicken Tenders. Rolls came with it along with soft drink. We ordered beer, of-course. Desert was ice-cream. Yum. Overall, it was good. Keep in mind, Melissa had a teachers discount which was a huge savings. What normally would have cost $150 for all 3 of us turned out to be only about $43. The show was good for $43 but I could not recommend it for $150. :)

Sunday, I made Grandma Eisses’s recipe for Baked Mostochilli. yummmm. Dam, that was good. No complaints from the ladies on that one. :) I have some pictures from this weekend that I’ll post soon.

Labor Day Weekend

The first big gathering at the new house occured Labor Day weekend. My Buddy Tom, his wife, & their daughter came down from Jacksonville. Melissa, her daughter, and their cat also came over along with Ma & Rob’s friend Joey & thier daughter. It was a full house.

It was too hot for outdoor activities but we had plenty to keep us entertain inside. We also had a keg of cold Bud Light on draft. Mmmm cold beer. :) Dogs & Burgers dominated the grill for dinner. For desert, we enjoyed a special 4-layer cake that was made for my gf Melissa who’s birthday was on Aug 20th. We sang but we did not do the polish part. Next time. I had trick candles on the cake which were proving to be quite difficult for someone to blow out. She’s gotta work on that. lol.

We also enjoyed some smoothies, Wii (guitar hero mainly), and a little relaxation. All in all, a fun labor day weekend.
