Moving on out (moving on out)

Well guys and gals, you’re not going to believe this. Kathy dumped me, again, this past Tuesday. Don’t worry, I’m not heartbroken like last time. Yeah I’m a little sad, understandably so, but I know I did everything I could to make this work and to have a future with her. And if she doesn’t want to be with me and share a future, there is no amount of talking, flowers, or letting her win in Wii that can change that. It’s really all up to her. Hence why I’m a little sad and not heartbroken.

I’m moving on. Time to go back to my roots. Time to focus on my future career. Time to focus on my future, goals, and Aspirations.

Moving Situation: I’m currently packing and staying by Kathy’s for the interim. Kathy was kind enough to allow me to stay by her place till I can move in with Ma & Rob - hopefully into their new house next week. I can’t wait to be out of Kathy’s place. I feel like an unwanted stranger here and I don’t belong here. It’s weird. Plus the couch isn’t long enough nor as comfortable as the bed. :)

I have been through some tough ass learning curves while in Florida. As much as I love to learn, this is ridiculous. Why me? Maybe one day, just maybe, I will have a good job and the woman at the same time. :) Though I have been close, this is something that still eludes me to this day.

Fishing later today

Rob and I are going to try our luck SW-NW of Picnic Island in Tampa Bay starting around noon. This is our first time in this area of the Bay and we are hoping we are far enough south away from the catfish.

Other news: My appeal to the UAC was filed by my attorney. Not sure when I will hear a decision. The one thing I don’t like is that it appears a copy of the appeal will be sent to DAB wx office. Which means the supervisor who I dissagreements with will have a copy of my address now. I believe she is crazy enough to do something.

Still busy the last few days. It has taken me longer to get some stuff done than I was expecting. Won’t bore you guys with all the details.

Off to go fishing.

Busy last few days

Go go go. That’s been me the last week or so. It feels good be out and about. In the last week or so I have had more motivation and energy than probably half of may and 1st of June. It feels good.

Yesterday, Kathy and I visited her friend Marc down in south Tampa. Marc lived a few hundred feet from Billy May’s Condo. The complex is beautiful and the club house leaves you with a impression of wow. We enjoyed a beer on the 2nd floor bar overlooking the pool and bay filled with docked boats. The clubhouse has 3 bars, fitness center, day spa, pool tables, 2 pools, a band on the weekends, etc. Each boat slip costs about $150K. Home Owner Association fees are $900 per month. This is definitely for the rich. Jennifer Hudson lives in there as well.

Still no job offers. I’m not sure what to apply for anymore. I do have alot of confidence in getting hired by the FAA. The question now stands…how soon. I can’t wait to get a job and/or get back controlling some planes. Financially, I’m in the red still. I will have enough funds to pay bills at the end of July.

I apply for FAA today

The day I have been waiting over 4 months has arrived! The FAA posted the general vacancy announcement and I’m applying. The closing date is July 17th, so I’m hoping to hear back soon after. Key word soon. This annoncement is basically the “off the street” hire. As long as you meet the employment/education requirements and your under 30, you can apply. What kind of makes me sick is that these people didn’t have to go through a CTI school and spend tens of thousands of dollars.

Visit to Orlando

Kathy and I took a dinner trip to Orlando to visit with one her old classmates from ERAU and his gf. We had dinner at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville at Universal Orlando resort. It was pretty sweet to be back there - even if it was just for dinner. Last time I was there was with the Tuckers back on June 12, 2008. Great times! After dinner, we hung out at the friends hotel pool. About 930p, Kathy and I drove back to Tampa.

July 4th beach party

Need I really say more? But I will. haha.

Kathy’s co-workers were having a beach party in Clearwater on almost a private beach. The main access was by boat, but we found path by a restaurant to sneak onto the beach. Quite a few boats beached for this party along with VB in the water, floatation devices to relax on and lots of beer and alcohol. We arrived by 1p and left about 1015p.

Rob suffered an injury during VB. He was making a heroic dive for the ball - which he missed - but after landing in the 12 inches of water, he scraped bottom. What started out as a little cut and blood turned into a bruised area the size of a softball, if not larger. This may be the first time I played VB since the good ole days of Friday night VB at the lodge. BTW, Darren if you are reading this, both Ma and Rob were playing VB and both were not on the injury list.

Kathy was toasted both by the sun and alcohol. No more SPF 15 for Kathy! Rob and I grilled a little and got a game of horseshoes in. Otherwise most of the time, we all spent it in the ocean drinking. What was nice was that if you had to go pee, you were always in the bathroom. lol. Ma & Rob had to leave around 7p because they had to let the dog out (now we know who did), otherwise they would have stayed.

Our location provided us a great view overlooking the mile long water channel with the Fireworks show off of Coachman Park in the background. Everybody and their mother was there for the show. It took us 1h 5m to get home but we estimated that it took other people 60-90 minutes just to get off the island. It was bad.

Overall, great afternoon and evening. We all had a blast and were pretty wiped out.

Situation update

In the last 7 days, I have really ramped up the employment search. However, still no job offers. Last Friday, I hired an attorney to handle my unemployment re-appeal to the UAC. He is 85% confident that he will win. There is one glimmer of hope though. The FAA is supposed to post the General Vacany Announcement for Air Traffic Controllers on July 6th. This is basically the ‘off the street hire’ application which is the category I fall into. My goal is to get into SRQ tower. I have an inside track on helping me achieve the SRQ goal. Sweet! I just hope it pans out and soon!

The Financial situation is still gloomy. If needed, I will cash in the rest of my bonds to pay the end-of-the months bills. After that, who knows.
