I have been suspended from my job till Jan 15th. Aparently, major problems at West Palm and Orlando have magnified the situation at Daytona. Though there is no guarentee that my job will be available to me Jan 16th. According to Vicki, I have 2 options available to me right now.

1) Say nothing. Say nothing about the schedule, the harrasment by my manager yesterday morning, etc. If I say nothing, there is a good chance we will all keep our jobs.

2) I put up a fight and most likely I, the manager, and 2 other employees would be fired. 7 employees total.

Tough call.

What sucks also, is she forced me to sign another document that I don’t agree with. The latest and greatest one is for insubordination. Really? One of the insubordinate bullets was that my regular shifts was the midnight to 8a shift. So my question is, How is this insubordination. Unbelievable. I totally dissagreed with that document. I wrote on the document “Acknowledge of Reciept”. I was only saying that I recieved the letter. 

What I am learning is that Vicki is playing both sides. She’ll tell you that you could, for example, swich shifts. But later on, she’ll write you up for it and say “I never said you could do that”. Unfortunatley, I think I caught onto her scheme a little too late. As Vicki says repeatedly, its her word against mine. Grrr.

In the meantime, I’m not sure what to do with my new vacation time. Hmm.

I just got chewed out again. As much as I wanted to not be bashed, I just took it. Man, I just can’t stay out of the spot light at work. It doesn’t matter how good of a job I do, or how much of a team player I am, Vicki is head hunting me. It sucks. I thought working back at DAB was the greatest thing since sliced bread but not lately. The work dynamics have really fallen apart.

I just got chewed out for requesting the weekend of MLK off. Key word is REQUESTING. The schedule is not even made out for that period and no one has requested that period in time off. So I didn’t think it would be a big deal but apparently it was. It would have been great to see a buddy but I can do that on a non-holiday stretch or something.

My manager was fuming and yelling at me for requesting off all holidays since I started in August. I really never thought about it like that as being holidays. I just treated it as just another day. I work midnight shifts. Heck, I don’t even know what day it is half the time. haha. I just worked Xmas eve & Xmas. Since Kathy and I are broken up, I really didn’t need NYE off anymore, but I just left the schedule as is - why not. It’s not like anyone is requesting these days off on the log sheet, so why not. I’m giving holiday pay to someone else. People are always looking to grab shifts anyways. Even if I said to vicki “hey, I dont’ need NYE off anymore. I’ll take the shift back”. Her response would have been “Oh, let me change the schedule for the great Marty. He has a Masters degree and is better than all of us. He doesn’t want anyone to have holiday pay.” It didn’t matter what I did, either way, I would have gotten chewed out.

Also whats coming around and biting me in the ass is all the gossip there. Man, I thought everyone was cool but I’m finding out you have be careful what you say and to whom you say it to. Apparently people talked to Vicki about my Chicago trip and told her all kinds of stories - which is mind boggling. All I know is that I orginally went up to Chicago for 4 days as a little mini vacation to get away from all the drama at work. Due to Kathy’s mother passing away, I extended my trip a few more days to attend the wake and funeral. I had all my shifts covered and Vicki knew I was up there for a funeral. But I still got chewed a new asshole.

I don’t know what is going to happen. I can’t see me getting fired for requesting days off. I may do some extra stuff in my obs thats not required, but the obs are not wrong. So I think I’m ok there. As for the shifts being covered for the Chicago trip…according to Vicki, we can swap and switch shifts as long as the other person agrees. Its up to us to figure out whether or not to change the schedule, pay cash for the difference in pay. Vicki doesn’t care as long as we work it out and we don’t get overtime. Well, I did just that. So, I think I’m ok there as well.

I’m under a very large microscope. I’m afraid to do anything there anymore. I’m getting chewed out on everything and I don’t know how much more I can take of hearing “my kids are better than you. My 10 year old makes better decisions than you. You have a Masters degree and you do stupid things like this. Use your brain. You think your so special.” So sickening. Really, I just want to sign in, do the obs, and collect a pay check. This is so much more than I bargained for. I just hope I can remain low for a while and let this blow over.

Of all the holidays in the last 2 months, NYE will be the roughest for me. Obviously, I wanted to ring the new years with Kathy but that aint happening. I believe Kathy’s ex Ted, is flying down from Chicago to be with Kathy for NYE. If I was in Ted’s position & wanted to date Kathy, you can bet that my ass would be on that plane! 

I still have off NYE, so I’m going to take advantage of it. I will be spending the 30th & 31st getting drunk off my ass! I just hope that somehow I will be able to slur the works “Hey Taxi”!

Obviously I need to get over Kathy and move on. Believe me, oh believe me, there is no one that wants to move on & get over it as badly as I! I think January will be a key recovery month for me.

I think someone took a picture of me on my camera phone. I would not have done any of that if I wasn’t single. Maybe being single isn’t that bad afterall….
