We are in Key West

and you’re not.

yours truly,

Marty, Kathy, and Mark

Shuttle launch cool. In Tamp for a few days

The shuttle launch was really cool to see. We were about 10 miles north of the launch pad. The shuttle took off and moved Northward towards us. Nice arc. The roaring sound was decent. I have video and pictures I’ll post in the near future. Next time, we will try and get beach view from Titusville looking east at the shuttle assembly building. Kathy says thats the spot to be. Also, before the launch, we played bags and I kicked Kevin’s ass. I think there was a shut out and a game of 21-1 which ties the record. haha.

Kathy and I are in the Tampa area. We arived at Ma & Rob’s late Wednesday night around midnight. Rob and I replaced Kathys front rotors earlier today. Then Kathy and I looked at apartments for her. Its about 6p and we are getting ready to eat at the Mongolian Bar-b-que. Kathy goes by her family tonight and it appears I will be staying overnight at Ma & Rob’s. I will be heading back to Daytona Friday late morning. Ta ta for now.

NASA launch today. We are going to view it

60% probability that the shuttle will not launch. However, Kathy, Kevin, and I are going to drive south in the hope to watch and video the launch. Its 904a.

Oklahoma training dates offered

This afternoon, I recieved a phone call from the FAA regaurding Oklahoma training dates. I have been offered Nov 5, 14, and 26th. I will most likely turn down Nov 5th. Of the remaining dates, I don’t know which one I will choose. Before this phone call, I was preparing myself as if I was to take the Nov 26th date. There is much I need to take care of if I were to accept a date earlier than this.

Due to the training, it is reasonably assumed that I will not be home in Chicago for Christmas.

The pain / Red tide / Website update

I don’t claim to be the best speller. Moving on now… The soreness receeded throughout Thursday. I’m back to about 90% mobility. It’s a good thing because the scooter chair store was about to recieve a phone call!

Red tide was still around Thursday so we decided not to go to the beach. Instead, Kevin and I caught up on some much needed paperwork. Kathy caught up on some sleep by napping. And Kevin and I played a few variety games of darts. Dude, I kicked his mo fo ass. haha. I also worked a little on my website.

Today starts the first of 4 shifts at DAB. Providing the weather isnt chaotic, I hope to spend much of the next 4 days resizing picture for the website. I will have to resize over 1000 pictures. The basic pages for the site are complete. Now its a matter of seting up several hundred links, inserting pictures, and adding the text to the pages. Though there is alot to do, at this stage, its mostly very repetative tasks.

I’m in pain!

The lower left side/back is still tender and very sore. It appears to have only improved a few percentage points from last night. I’m pretty much useless at this point. Sitting here doing nothing is painful.

Red tide and topless women at the beach

Kathy and I hit up the beach earlier today. The water soaked up much of the beach even 2 hours before high tide. Since there was no beach to drive on we carried the beach gear. Kathy and I had some breathing difficulties which we later learned was from Red Tide. The highlight of the afternoon came from two young ladies (one white and one black) who walked out from the hotel, laid about 40 feet from us and tanned with their tops off. Nice. Kathy and I were just playin some frisbee and I located nearly in front of them. I turned around to grab the frisbee when I couldn’t believe my eyes. The tops were off. The white girl didn’t have a care in the world as she would just walk around, walk a little in the water, and walked around while talking on the cell phone. The black girls boobs were bigger but they both were still on the small side.

What was even better, believe it or not, was watching the people walk by. Both men and women were looking but the men were the funniest. It didn’t matter what age the men walking by were, they were doing some takes. It wasn’t just a glance, but long stares…a small pause…another long stare and so on. I seen one guy do 4 long ass takes - with the last two takes taking place after he passed them - turning almost around just to look again.

Onto more less entertaining news, I took a nap after the beach, worked a few hours on the website. I also have a pain/cramp/sore - whatever it is, in my lower left side back. I think it was from exercising (playing frisbee) at the beach.
