Interview with the FAA

I recieved an email today from the FAA for an interview. Using Kathy’s FAA process as a guidline, I wasn’t expecting this interview for another 2 months. This is a similar interview that Kathy had at Daytona Tower. Its to see if your a sane person and if your suited for the position that they are considering for you. I will be recieving information soon on when this interview will take place and hopefully at the interview, they will let me know my facility. All I know is that it is Terminal which means it’s a Tower or TRACON facility.

Parts from the FAA email

This is to advise you that you have been selected to interview for a terminal Air Traffic Control specialist position with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the state of Florida.  In the coming weeks you will receive inquiries and/or requests for information from several different offices within the FAA - it is very important that you respond to each request in a timely manner. The pre-employment hiring process can take up to 6 months, and your actual date
of employment will depend on class availability and agency requirements.

Steps that will follow:

2. Interview

A personal interview is an important part in the process of being selected for this position. We will arrange for you to be interviewed at an FAA en route facility near you. Based on your current address, we are planning for
the interview to take place at the Daytona Beach Air Traffic Control Tower in Daytona Beach, FL. If you are living elsewhere, we will make sure the interview takes place close to your current location.

3. Pre-Employment Processing with the Aviation Careers Division

If your interviewer recommends that you continue as a candidate, the Aviation Careers Division will provide you additional correspondence identifying the specific facility for which you are being considered and instructions regarding the completion of your medical and security processing. At that point, all of your processing will be handled by your contact point in the Aviation Careers Division – the individual who signs your correspondence.

4. Training (if needed)

Once all pre-employment processing is completed, you will be scheduled for training in Oklahoma City if required.

The Olds is gone…..forever

Today, I sold the Oldsmobile.  :-( Tear. The memories and most importantly, knight rider…gone. It will be missed. It was 8 years ago on September 4, 1999 that I purchased the car with approximately 89,000 miles. I sold it with 216,960 miles. Alot of memories (some good and some horrible).
