Off this Sunday

I worked Friday and Saturday afternoon which means I have off this Sunday. Kathy, I, and maybe Kevin may go out tonight. Kathy was able to switch shifts on Wednesday, so it appears we can leave earlier on Wednesday than expected. Today, we had NE winds around 20kts gusting to over 30kts. The waves are supposed to be huge the next few days. yay for boogie boarding.

A visit from Tampa turns moldy

Ma & Rob dropped by Tuesday night. We enjoyed some drinks and shot the shit for a while crashing around after midnight. Rob, Kevin, and I worked (actually like 98% was Rob) on Kevin’s truck Wednesday morning. Kevin’s fuel pump was toast and needed to be replaced. After nearly 3 hours, the job was done and we all hit the beach for the afternoon wrapping up around 5p. I kicked some butt in bags as usual. After all, I am T Love. haha.

We showered and Kevin treated Ma & Rob to dinner at the Oyster Pub. The food was good and the beer was something to talk about. I had bottled beer because the last few times I had beer from the Oyster Pub, it had a skunky taste to it which is most likely from dirty keg lines. Rob and Kevin shared a pitcher. The first pitcher was ok however, the 2nd pitcher was something to be desired.

The pitcher was less than 1/4 full when we noticed some black stuff at the bottom of the pitcher. After a brief but thourough investigation, it turned out to be some black moldy oldy gunk. It appears the kitchen guys forgot to use soap and a scrubber. I spoke to the manager and he offered us each a free drink coupon which actually could tally up more than the cost of that pitcher.

We headed back to the apartment and said goodbye to Ma and Rob. Kevin and I were exhausted and were in bed 10 minutes after their departure which puts it around 945p. Great day.

FAA Interview went well

I had my interview at Daytona Beach Airport. It lasted about an hour and I thought it went well. Many of the questions were asked involving the success and failures of group dynamics and team work from my past experiences. I inquired about where in Florida the FAA was considering for me, but they could not tell me. I was able to squeeze out of him that it is on the eastern half of Florida and it is not Miami. I should recieve paperwork in the mail that contains my offer within about 2 weeks.

FAA Interview

I was contacted yesterday by the FAA. I set up the interview for Tuesday, Sept 25th at Daytona Tower. This interview will take about an hour and it is to determine whether I am acceptable for the position. They probably won’t tell me what terminal facility they have chosen for me at the interview. I’ll probably find out in the mail about 10 days after the interview.

I like Sunshine

Finally after 3 days, the sun is out and it feels great! So great that Kevin, Kathy, and I are heading to the beach soon. Last night, Bubba joined Sandra, Kevin, and I at Mr. Dunderbaks. That’s right, Bubba is back in town for a few days packing up. Congratulations to him as he landed a job with the DOT in D.C.

Rain rain go away / Website update

Since Sunday night, it has rained - not continuously, but long enough. It has rained continously since Tuesday about 9pm-ish and continues to rain this morning. There is a developing low pressure just off the coast throwing bands of showers with embedded thunderstorms onshore. I hope this clears up soon because I sure would like to go to the beach again. I am on like a 5 day beach drought.

Website update
Interestingly, the timing of this gloomy weather couldn’t have been better. I have spent about 10-12 hours per day, since Monday, working on my website. This is tedious work. Yesterday, I spent 8 hours trying to figure out how to display my top horizontal navigation bar over a frame. After 8 hours, I figured out how to make it work. So today, I hope to finally create most of the pages for the site. Once those are created, I then need to resize and optomize hundreds of pictures. Once that is done, then I can transfer them onto these pages. There is alot of repetative work ahead which will soak up about another 40 hours. I still need to learn and create the special contests pages. aye.

Website progress

Last weekend, I was hopefull to have parts of my site back up and running. This is not the case. I’ve decided to re-launch the entire site as a whole instead of just parts. I’m currently working on the navigation bars and links. I’ll be re-tackling the various frame templates this week. I have figured out the slide show viewers and I still need to finalize an overall layout of my site.

After spending over 60 hours in the last 2 weeks working and learning dreamweaver, I have come to appreciate and not take for granted websites such as best buy, etc. I think it is possible to have a re-launch by the end of the month.
