Aircraft Mishap at DAB…..Global Warming to blame

Around 5p EDT (2100Z), an aircraft - presumed to be a cessna - rolled off the end of the runway. Ooops. I can tell you weather was not a factor in the crash.

The 2053Z ob was: KDAB 302053Z 05008KT 10SM FEW023 31/22 A2998 RMK AO2 SLP153 T03060222 58017

A couple thoughts come to mind. How can you roll a cessna off a nearly 4000ft runway? These planes are off the ground in 1500ft.  Perhaps he was landing? Of course, wouldn’t you think that if you are landing, and more than half the runway is behind and you haven’t touched ground yet….do you think it’s a good idea to keep trying? If you couldn’t land before, what makes you think you can still do it? Come on, give me a break.

I just briefly visited the firefighters and I thought something about fuel was mentioned.

Though I have no idea how he went off the runway, perhaps a blown tire, I can only make assumptions at this time. However, once the investigation is complete, I’m pretty sure the findings will reveal that Global Warming was to blame.

Raising the Bar

Last night, kathy and I settled down at McK’s to work on our beer list of over 100 beers. $2 bottles which includes many of the imports. The pictures are us raising the bar - pun intended - followed by me passed out at the bar.

Later that evening we by Kathy’s friends house for a party. Pictured is Bubba and I playing Beer Pong. And yes, those are Krispy Kreme hats we are wearing.

It’s not pretty, but it will work…for now.

I needed a break

I think the pictures tell all. And yes, that is a cumulonimbus behind me oh say about 50 miles or so.

Another 90 hits transends over Chicago

According to Frank Wachowski, Midway topped out at 89.7 on Tuesday. I believe this marks the 4th or 5th 90-degree day. I should have some form of the 90 contest page uploaded later today as I am refreshing myself on the basics in Dreamweaver.

Website and Blog back up, kind of

If you are seeing this page, don’t fret. This is a very very good thing. Changing webhosting servers has been a pain in the ass! I just got my email back up and running after being down since Thursday. My website is down. My domain wxobs.info is still in the process of transfering over to the new server. After spending 10 hours a day since Thursday, I have worked out a way to display this page at least.

What a mess!

I learned a heck of a lot these past few days. If I could go back in time with what I know now, this whole process would have been seemless and smooth.

My next priority is to get some form of the 90 degree contest page up.

Webhosting Tranfer

I am switching webhosters from Yahoo to 1&1. Why? Its over 2/3 cheaper per month (thats $9 per month btw) and I get more storage space and higher data transfer rates. I am uncertain how this will affect, if any, my weblog. I am also uncertain as to when the timing of the transfer will take place.

Also, I have trained on new Dreamweaver software to upgrade my website pages. I am uncertain as to when I will have the new pages available.

All this is to streamline my operations and costs along with improving efficency for me and my guests who visit and use my website.

Stay tuned.
